Mr David Houlihan-Burne

CONSULTANT KNEE SURGEON

Mr Houlihan-Burne specialises in all aspects of knee surgery. He is a European lecturer and teacher in the use of MAKO robotic knee replacement surgery.

His surgical interests include knee cartilage and ligament injury treatment as well as knee arthritis, particularly in the younger patient. In 2013, Mr Houlihan-Burne was listed in Tatler magazine’s ‘Doctors Guide’.

DR CON PAPAGEORGIOU

CONSULTANT ANAESTHETIST

Dr Con Papageorgiou graduated from Bristol University in 1999 and started his anaesthetic career in 2003. He has worked in a number of hospitals, including tertiary units in the UK and Australia, gaining considerable experience before settling on a permanent consultant role at Hillingdon Hospital in West London.

At Hillingdon, he has led innovation in developing enhanced recovery programmes in orthopaedic surgery, as well as supervising anaesthetic research fellowships.

Dr Papageorgiou has worked with David for over six years, with his areas of special interest and expertise including anaesthesia and advanced pain control techniques for orthopaedic surgery.

Dr Michele Stevens

DR MICHELE STEVENS

CONSULTANT ANAESTHETIST

Dr Michele Stevens qualified as a doctor from St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School and then embarked on her anaesthetic training at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. After completing her specialist training, she was appointed as a consultant at Hillingdon Hospital. At Hillingdon, she was made Clinical Lead for Anaesthetics, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine.

Michele has worked with David for 15 years and has enjoyed developing and diversifying her practice as he has introduced new surgical techniques into his. She has been central to improving the operative experience for his patients, with expert and modern pain control techniques. Dr Stevens strongly believes that working so closely as a team allows us to provide the best care for our patients.
